This wiki is intended for collaboration around grant procurement for the College of Education. You can find RFPs, links to information sources, proposals, and other resources here. You can also work on proposals at a distance through the wiki. Check the folders  and pages in the sidebar fto the right for specific competitions. IN PROGRESS

Dawn Shinew (T&L), Shane Brown (Engineering), and Libby Knott (Mathematics). National Science Foundation: Innovations in Engineering Education, Curriculum, and Infrastructure Program. Project Title: “What is Engineering Knowledge: A Longitudinal Study of Conceptual Change and Epistemology in Engineering Students and Practitioners.”  Due March 12th. Requested amount: $400,000.

 

Dawn Shinew (T&L) and Arlene Hett (Com. Coll. Center). HECB. Education for Sustainable Development and Global Health: An Integrated Approach for the 21st Century. Partnerships confirmed with Tekoa and Davenport School Districts. Working on Toppenish and Whitman County Schools. Also partnering with the Seattle Biomedical Research Center. Focusing on curriculum development around local and global sustainability issues with high school math, science, and English teachers. Includes strand for principals in instructional support and grant-writing. Deadline March 31st. Requesting @$350,000.

 

NSF Research in Disabilities Education (Matt) submitted a proposal to use handheld software applications as a means to support students with learning disabilities in secondary general education science classrooms in Spokane. The proposal is under review. Many aspects of the proposal could be expanded with limited effort to address the STEM challenge grant due April 27th. Please contact me if you are interested in collaborating on the challenge grant.

 

LLEC (Mary, Joy, Tom, David, Jane, Pat) submitted a proposal to the Lauzier and Verizon Foundations on February 23rd. Status is pending.

 

LLE - Pullman faculty are submitting a proposal to the HECB 21st Century Educators competition on March 31st. Our current partner schools are Pullman, Wahluke, Mt. Adams. We are negotiating with others.  

 

LLE - Pullman faculty are revising a proposal for the IES Teacher Quality Reading/Writing competition, due in June.

Is anyone planning on submitting to the NIH STEM Education competition this year? The notice came out formally from Len today (3/5).

Math Ed - Janet Frost is partnering with Eastern Washington University, Spokane Falls Community College, Chewelah, Wellpinit, Central Valley, Mead, and Spokane School Districts (and hopefully more school districts) on a HECB 21st Century Educators proposal on 3/31.
